Our Roots Are in Farming

Our Roots Are in Farming

Our Origin

Our story begins with an indoor urban farm called Farmed Here, an early leader in the local-food movement that grew greens and herbs for the Chicago-area market. As a way to reduce waste, we started using our leftover basil to make salad dressing. The dressing was a huge hit, the brand grew, and we realized that we could have a greater impact and support other farmers if we shifted our focus from growing produce to creating fresh clean-label, plant-based products. And to emphasize the importance of our farmers, in 2019 we officially changed our name from Here to Field + Farmer.

The Field

It all starts with the ingredients in the field. We seek out the highest-quality produce for every Field + Farmer dip, dressing, and juice. All of our products contain fresh produce and real ingredients that you recognize and can pronounce!

The Farmer

Every time you purchase a Field + Farmer dip, dressing, or juice, you are supporting a farm. Last year, nearly half of all the produce that went into our products was local to our facility, and we routinely donate to organizations that support farmers.

The Community

We make all Field + Farmer products at our facility just outside Chicago. We've invested in and built a diverse and talented team and are proud to give opportunities to people who face employment barriers. We understand that our team is the heart of the company.

The Planet

We are a committed, sustainable B-Corp, always striving to lessen our carbon footprint and widen our positive impact. We compost 100% of our food waste, and nearly half the produce we purchased last year was “imperfect” or “ugly” seconds.
