Led by Chicago food pioneer Alex Poltorak, The Urban Canopy is an urban farm, food distributor, and compost provider located in Chicago, Illinois. The Urban Canopy grows wheatgrass inside The Plant Chicago, a groundbreaking food-production space designed to be a net-zero, closed-loop system in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood. The Urban Canopy’s mission is to grow more food, in Chicago, in a sustainable way that directly impacts the way we think about our nutrition, environment, community, and economy.
